After a lengthy gap, the junket vlogs are back! Indeed, I’ve got a backlog I need to get uploaded, but let’s get bang up to date with last week’s trip to Auckland, and an unexpectedly luxurious hotel which fell down only in its rather pathetic broadband. Hello to the Best Western President in Auckland:

Two hotels for the price of one! First stop is the Australis Sovereign at Surfers, which has to have suffered the worst weather I’ve ever had on a junket:

And then, unexpectedly, the Greenmount Beach Resort the next night:

A quick cross-country trip and we’re at Aaron’s Hotel in Perth, which has lots going for it: central city location, reasonable sized rooms, a functioning sink plug. But what’s the issue with the desk?

A belated posting for this junket vlog, which comes from the comparitively luxurious Broadbeach Savannah at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast — heck, my room even had a spa. On the other hand, I had to make my own bed.

The travel train resumes with a visit to the Soho Motel in Brisbane. I picked this because the Terraces on Wickham, my previous venue of choice, had become too expensive, and the Soho is right next door — there’s even a shot of the neighbouring hotel. A junket vlog covering that rarest of events, a leisure trip, this time to Blackpool to see French & Saunders on tour. I was quite impressed with the Dudley Hotel in Blackpool, especially considering (and I do keep mentioning this) the price:

The vlogging resumes for 2008 with this video shot in the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport at Burlingame. It’s the classic collection of whinges really: sink plugs, lighting and not enough coffee.

For my second trip to Vegas in three months, I ended up back at Mandalay Bay, in a room largely identical to the one I stayed in last time. It wasn’t exactly identical, however, which left me some wriggle room to whinge.
