Google, Vista, Qantas

I’ve had a good week for getting noticed. A news story I wrote for ZDNet on Qantas’ shift away from Linux for finance systems got picked up by the US CNet and ZDNet sites, which is pretty unusual. Meanwhile, the piece I wrote earlier in the week about Google’s finance systems also got mentioned at Slashdot, though most of the people marking narky comments don’t actually seem to have read the article.

I’ve had a less good week in terms of getting my new Vista PC up and running. The details are in a Transit blog entry for iTWire, which undoubtedly won’t be the last I have to say on the subject. In a happier mood, my latest Snorage entry looks at what home technology usage can teach storage managers.
